Petersburgh Library Upcoming Events

Preschool story hour has resumed weekly programs on Tuesdays at 3:30 pm. All preschoolers are invited for stories, crafts, play and snacks.  [private]
Everyone is invited to all the programs held this summer sponsored by the library.  There will be daily activities Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 pm with Legos on Monday, Coloring on Tuesday, Food Fun on Wednesday, Crafts on Thursday and Games on Friday.
Art In The Library – Painting on wood will be the theme of the first art program for grades 2 to 5 on Tuesday through Thursday, July 5 to 7 at 10:30 am.  Pam Gerstel, an experienced folk art painter and teacher will lead the program and each child will take his/her creations home at the end.  Sign-up is required since space is limited.  Please call the library or sign up at the library.
Sing And Dance,  Move And Groove – Wednesday, July 6 at 10:30 am Deb Cavanaugh, singer and songwriter, will present a fun musical program.  There will be percussion instruments for you to play along and plenty of chances to move your body.  Learn some traditional American songs, listen to traditional American instruments such as the mountain dulcimer and the limberjack and experience a “crankie”, an old storytelling art form set to music.  Held at the PVMCC.
Food Fun –Cupcakes With Karen – On Wednesday July 6 between 4 and 5 pm learn how to make cupcakes extra special with instructions from Karen Roberts, an experienced cupcake decorator. All supplies will be provided.  Held at the library.
Fishing! Friday, July 8 at 10:30 am The Dyken Pond Environmental Center will present a program called Fishing! held at the Petersburgh Town Park. Children will learn fascinating fish facts, learn how to identify common fish species found in lakes and streams, make fish prints to take home and practice casting with a fishing pole. We will also examine macro invertebrates (tiny creatures) to find out what fish eat.[/private]
