Polish Hall’s 8th Annual Poker Run Held June 4

The Polish Hall held its 8th Annual Poker Run on June 4th,  that benefits the McGovern Cancer Fund, and was again a success!  A beautiful day was had by all, with 70 registered participants.  $1409 was collected by participants and donations, and was presented to Pat Hayes, chairperson of the McGovern Fund.  Every year, the Polish Hall donates up to $1,000.00 of matched funds as well.

This year’s route followed:  Jody’s Tavern in Greenwich, American Legion Post #1644 in Mechanicville, The Scoreboard in Lansingburgh, and Lakeview Inn at Crystal Lake, Averill Park.  These businesses also provided donated snacks for the participants, and the American Legion provided a wonderful midafternoon lunch.  Thank you for being part of the Poker Run.

Winners:  1st place – $100 to Renee Brogue with 5 queens, 2nd place – a $75 gift certificate donated by Andy Smith of Smitty’s Custom Bikes & Pipes to Bill Flavin with 3 aces, and 3rd place – 2 Polish Hall Clam Steam tickets, a $70 value, to Joe Ahrberg with 3 threes.  Prize winners: A $50 Shell gift card – donated by Ed Raetz of Bennnington Auto Tech, to Chuck Prebble,  Dinner for 2,  donated by Pat Guidon of Foggy Notion, to Mary Brott, and two – $25 gift certificates donated by Lakeview Inn to Denise McMahon and Ginny Blinstrub. The 50/50 winner of $163 was Renee Trombley and Billy Harris, who donated $75 back to the McGovern Fund.  Congrats and thank you all.
