Hoosick Falls own “Big Band”, known as The Stardusters will present their annual concert in the Wood Memorial Park Bandstand on Wednesday, June 29, at 7:30 pm. This eighteen-member band performs big band style music from all periods. The Stardusters offer the music to anyone doing wedding receptions, anniversaries and other functions. The group consists of three trumpets, four trombones, eight saxophones, piano, bass and traps and is directed by Bill Gaillard who has been with the band since its premier performance at HFCS in 1975. The band was formed by Cortland Cottrell (d), and managed by his son Bill. Selections for the concert include “In The Mood,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Only a Rose,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Song of India,” “Little Brown Jug,” and many of the favorites of the Big Band era.
The public is cordially invited to this concert that starts the music season in the park. The Community Band concerts begin on July 6.[/private]
