In remembrance of the tragic events that happened on September 11, 2001, the Town of Hoosick Emergency Services will be holding a 15th anniversary 911 Memorial service on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4:30 pm in Wood Park in the village of Hoosick Falls.[private] The service will begin at 4 pm with a short ceremony at the peace pole at the Hoosick Falls fire station on Griffin Avenue. At 4:15 pm several fire departments, rescue squads, police agencies, individuals from our local churches and members of several government agencies will march down Main St. to Wood Park where the main 911 memorial service will take place. The Town of Hoosick Community Band will offer several musical selections, and several guest speakers will speak, followed by a candle light vigil. Refreshments will be served following the service. This event is open to the general public. Any group or organization that would like to participate in the parade may do so by contacting Chief Alan Bornt of the North Hoosick Fire Department by September 4.
