Rensselaer Plateau Alliance invites the community to Andy Spence’s presentation about the Fox Hollow Music Festival, an annual Petersburgh tradition from 1966 to 1980, at the Sand Lake Town Hall on September 8.[private] The Fox Hollow Festival, founded and sponsored by Bob and Evelyn Beers, was the scene of great music, with thousands of people attending during its 14 year reign. Andy Spence first attended the music festival in 1967. She became a member of the Fox Hollow Board and took over many jobs at the festival. After the death of Bob Beers, Andy and Bill Spence moved the festival to the Altamont Fair Grounds where it still operates today as the Old Songs Festival.
Fox Hollow Music Festival kicks off the 2016-2017 RPA Lecture Series which is held on the second Thursday of the month at the Sand Lake Town Hall. The presentation will begin at 7 pm.
