Monday, Nov. 26: Today Mr. Benjamin Green from Berlin came and weighed the cheese and casked it up. There was two thousand one hundred eight pounds and he paid me eight cts per pound for all but one hundred fifty six pounds of late made. He paid six cts per pound which makes one hundred and sixty five dollars 52 cts. He paid me the cash tonight and we loaded up the cheese.
Tuesday: This morning I started for Troy with my cheese. I called to Ball’s Tavern and bated. I paid three cts for bitters. I went on and put up to Knights. I paid my bill at Knight’s, then I went into Troy and delivered said cheese to Hooker’s tow boat office and took a receit.
Thursday, Dec.6: This morning I paid Jane Wylie 37 cts for the two days past making my wife a dress. Today I am unwell with a cold and I chopped sausage meat and in the evening I helped fill sausages.
Friday: I went up to see Mr. Connors at Mr. Zach Chapman’s. I wanted him to move into my house on my Rodgers farm and fodder for me this winter but he would not agree to.
Saturday: Today I took my one-horse pung and rode to Lebanon. I called to Mr. Brewers the factory man and let me have six yards of double fold or what is called broad cloth for the thirty pounds of wool I let him have last June to work into cloth to the halves. I paid two cents for sugar lead for Charlotte to make a wash for her sore eye, and then I rode up to Morey and fetched Angeline home. Charlotte walked home on Thursday on account of her sore eye. Sunday: Today I took my one horse sleigh and carried my wife to ride for the first time after she has been sick.
Monday: This morning I took my one horse sleigh and carried my two daughters to Lebanon to Amos Morey’s select school. I walked up to Solomon Goodrich’s to see Elder Chesters if he would move into my house and fodder for me but he would not.
Tuesday, December 25: Today cousin Samuel and myself rode with cousin Rows to Alps village to a shooting match. We stayed two hours. I paid six cts for wine and we returned home with cousin Row and took dinner. [/private]
