submitted by Sharon Hodges The Petersburgh Public Library encourages everyone to participate in the summer reading program. Adults are invited to submit raffle slips into our drawings for prizes.[private] For each book read an entry can be made into one of 13 prizes. The drawing for winners will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 5 pm so all entries must be made by 6 pm on Tuesday, August 16. Teens and children can read all summer, and final reading lists must be submitted by Saturday, September 3. Prizes will be awarded the week following submission of lists except for those who turn in their lists by Monday August 15 at 6 pm. The celebration will be held Wednesday, August 17 from 3 to 5 pm. Certificates will be awarded, prizes handed out and cotton candy will be enjoyed. At 5 pm the drawings will be held for the prizes. Daily activities are held at the library through August 26 from 3 to 5 pm. Monday is Legos, Tuesday adult and youth coloring, Wednesday food crafts, Thursday crafts and Friday games. Everyone is invited to participate. The book discussion group is reading the book “Jackie Robinson” by Arnold Rampersad. Copies of the book are available at the library. The discussion will be help on Wednesday, September 14. Everyone is invited to join the discussion. Books are selected by members of the group and new members are always welcome.[/private]
