Stephentown Man Arrested For Drug Charges Following Pursuit

A Stephentown man is facing several charges after being pursued by State Police in Sand Lake Friday evening. 26-year-old Robert Juliano was seen speeding on State Route 66 by a trooper from the Sand Lake Barracks. [private]Juliano refused to stop for the trooper and fled over several roads, finally running out of gas on Tsatsawassa Lake Road in Nassau. Juliano was found with a controlled opiate and two hypodermic needles. It was also discovered that his license had several suspensions. He was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree. Juliano was arraigned in the North Greenbush Town Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail. He will make appearances in the Sand Lake and Nassau Town Courts at later dates. [/private]
