Poetry about America with Judy Saks – 2 Sessions at Stephentown Memorial Library – Tuesdays, August 9 and 16 at 6:30 pm. Judy Saks will present poetry dating from Colonial times to the late 20th century and discuss their context and meaning. [private]All are welcome and refreshments will be served. Reservations appreciated, but not required. Copies of the poems will be distributed at the sessions. Summer Hours at SML – During August, our Saturday hours are 9 am to 1 pm. You asked for earlier hours and we heard you. We are always trying to be responsive to our patrons. Cake Pans at SML – Come in and check out our newest addition to the SML collection….Cake Pans!! With over 40 cake pans to choose from, patrons may borrow pans for up to one week. We have character pans (including Mickey Mouse, Santa, Sponge Bob and Winnie the Pooh), sheet cake pans, and pans for 4 and 5 tier round or square cakes. Stop by the library to browse our amazing new collection. End of Summer Ice Cream Party – Saturday, August 20 at 2 pm. It’s a wrap! Our Summer Reading Program wraps up with our Annual Ice Cream Party. Make your own Ice Cream Sundaes courtesy of Stewart’s Shops, and prizes for Summer Reading Program participants. Prize Drawing will not be at the Party, but all winners will be contacted the week after the party. If you have not signed up for summer reading, sign up now and fill in the time that you already read this summer. We’ve got great prizes this year including 2 Kindle Fire readers, a Family Movie basket, Pokemon Go, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Lego items. All are welcome to join the fun!
