Gwendolyn Wright Scholarship Presented

The Gwendolyn Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund in the amount of $3,000 has been presented to Krystal Smith of Hoosick Falls.  [private]This Scholarship is awarded to those who qualify and are seeking to advance themselves into the medical field of nursing.  At this time, Krystal is enrolled in the Practical Nurse Program at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing.

The Scholarship is endowed for a Certified Nurse Aide who has decided to become a fully qualified nurse or an LPN training to be an RN and meets the requirements set forth by the Scholarship Committee.

Gwendolyn “Gwen” was employed at the Commission of Economic Opportunity (CEO) for 30 years.  At the time of her retirement she was Community Service Director.  Following her retirement in 1988, Gwen served on the Auxiliary at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, including many years as the vice-president.  Her husband, Gilbert, is well-known for his contribution to the Center’s Board of Directors, where he served several years as treasurer.[/private]
