Panthers Defeat Granville, 28-13

Hoosick Falls (1-2) got the first win of the season in the books last Friday, September 16 when they defeated Granville (0-3) on the HFCS field.

[private]Drew Hoag put the Panthers up 6-0 on the opening drive when he scored from four yards out. David Everard kicked the extra point. From that point on the Panthers led the entire game.

In the second quarter, quarterback Aaron Tomczak added another score from one yard out after a Tomczak to Everard 46 yard pass put the Panthers on the one yard line. The PAT run failed.

The Golden Horde scored in the third quarter but couldn’t get any closer when the Panthers added two more scores early in the fourth on two Tomczak short runs. Granville added anther TD later in the fourth quarter.

Tomczak passed for 117 yards (8-14-0), his third 100 yard plus game in a row. Everard caught 3 of those passes for 49 yards, Tristan Hunt caught 4 for 46 yards. Hoag rushed for 104 yards on 21 carries, Tomczak added 95 yards on 22 carries.

The Panthers stay at home again this week when they face Lake George / Hadley-Luzerne (2-1). LG / HL scored 62 points last week in a win over Cairo-Durham, a week after they put up 47 points defeating Corinth. The game is Friday evening, September 23. Game time is 7 pm.[/private]
