The Hoosick Falls Panthers (0-2) got off to a great start against Hoosic Valley (2-0).[private] Early in the Saturday September 10 game, Panthers quarterback Aaron Tomczak connected with David Everard for a score, then Tomczak ran the ball in from the two for another to put the Panthers up 13-0 by the end of the first quarter.

But the Indians countered that in spades during the second quarter, putting 36 points on the board. Two fumbles and two muffed punt snaps gave the ball to the Indians well inside Panther territory and the Indians capitalized on every one.  The Indians scored four times in 6 minutes and 49 seconds. At the end of the second quarter the score stood at 36-13.

Hoosick Falls scored once in the third quarter when Everard hauled in a 44 yard pass from Tomczak. With the Tomczak to Brandon Decker two point conversion pass, the Panthers pulled within 15 at 36-21.

Hoosic Valley added one score in the fourth quarter to make the final score 44-21. Tomczak went 19 of 30 for 242 yards. Everard was the recipient of five of those passes for 107 yards.

Friday evening, September 16, the Panthers will play the Granville Golden Horde (0-2) on the HFCS field. Kickoff is at 7 pm.[/private]
