Two boys, aged 17 and 14, took a Ford Taurus for a “test drive” last Friday. [private]The boys, from North Bennington, ended their test in a ditch on Beechwood Road, about a mile north of the Bayer Road intersection in East Hoosick. The road appeared to have recently been paved with crushed stone. When the driver lost control of the southbound vehicle while rounding a curve, the vehicle crossed the other lane and went into a ditch with enough momentum to flip the car over, trapping the people inside.
The boys, who appeared unhurt, kicked a rear door window out to exit the vehicle. New York State Police issued multiple tickets, including driving without a license and a vehicle with no registration. The Hoosick Fire Department and Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad also responded to the call. Barber & Fricke Automotive removed the car from the scene. Photo by Steve Bradley[/private]
