Hoosick Falls Defeats Granville, 3-0

The Lady Panthers defeated Granville in quarterfinal sectional play last Wednesday. The win enabled HF to advance to the semifinals Wednesday, October 26, to play Warrensburg. [private]The Ladies defeated Warrensburg twice this year, each game going into overtime. If the Panthers were successful on Wednesday and advanced to the finals, the game will be held at Schuylerville High School, Sunday, October 30 at 2 pm.

HF 3 – Granville 0

Wednesday, October 19 at HFCS. HF 12-0 / 17-0, GW 11-7. The Ladies grabbed a three goal first half lead and cruised to victory. Liz Ryan, with an assist by Megan Henry, scored less than five minutes into the game. Six minutes later, Ryan would return the favor, assisting Henry for a goal. Ryan scored unassisted later in the half. Granville goalie Cheyenne Oakman had nine saves, while Kaitlin Backes (2 saves) and Zoe Gress (1 save) shared time in goal for the Panthers.[/private]
