Ladies Undefeated In Regular Season

The Lady Panthers (16-0) concluded the regular season Friday afternoon against Emma Willard of Troy. Several things resulted from that game, all good. [private]The Panthers ended the season undefeated with a 16-0 record. The record gave the Panthers the league title and the number two Class C seed in sectional play with a first round bye. Seeding for Class C were: 1 Schuylerville, 2 Hoosick Falls, 3 Johnstown, 4 Greenwich, 5 Taconic Hills, 6 Warrensburgh, 7 Granville, 8 North Warren, 9 Salem, 10 Germantown, 11 Corinth.

The first round of sectionals began last Monday. Granville defeated Germantown, 2-0, Monday afternoon to win the right to play Hoosick Falls on Wednesday.

From there, the semifinals will be held on the field of the highest seed on Wednesday, October 26 at 3 pm. The finals will be in Schuylerville at 2 pm on Sunday, October 30.

HF 5 – Emma Willard 1

Friday, October 14 at HFCS. HF 16-0, 12-0; EW 8-3. Hoosick Falls scored first eight minutes into the game when Ally Burdick assisted Breanna Schnakenberg. Emma Willard came back to tie the game four minutes later. From there it was all Panthers. Forty seconds after EW’s score, Liz Ryan scored to break the tie. Ally Burdick scored the first of her three goals later in the first half with an assist from Eliza Whitman. Burdick added two unassisted goals in the second half. EW’s goalie Sasha Bonesteel had 14 saves, while the Panthers’ Kaitlin Backes had two and  Zoe Gress had none. Hoosick Falls had 12 penalty corners to EW’s 5.[/private]
