New York State Department of Health has offered blood testing for several months for people with concerns about exposures to PFOA from having lived or worked in the Hoosick and Petersburgh areas.[private] They have tested more than 3,000 people from both communities. They are now announcing two dates for additional blood testing. Given the small number of additional requests for blood tests received since June, these two dates will complete this round of blood testing events conducted at the Hoosick Falls Armory and Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall. The dates and locations are: Saturday, October 29: Hoosick Falls Armory: 9 am to 1 pm. Saturday, November 5: Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall: 9 am to 1 pm. NYS DOH will be calling people to make appointments for these dates. To request an appointment, individuals can contact them by October 21. Walk-ins will be accepted but appointments are preferable.
