Ruby Grobuski

Hoosick – Ruby E. Grobuski, 81, passed away on Monday October 17, at the Centers for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, where she has resided since 1994.

[private]Ruby was born on July 22, 1935, in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, Canada, daughter of the late Elias and Alice (Dwyer) Slade. Ruby moved to the United States in 1955 and married Robert Grobuski. She was educated at schools in Canada. Ruby was formerly employed at The Common Cafe in Northfield, VT and Norwich University as a waitress. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, listening to Newfoundland music and country music. Ruby received an award from C.L.R. for being the longest resident there.

Survivors include her children Pam Benkoski (Robert) of Hoosick Falls, NY, Patricia Ellis (Tim) of West Hoosick, NY, Steve Grobuski (Yvonne) of Hoosick Falls, a sister Pamela Sheppard (John) of Deer Lake, Canada, a daughter-in-law Diane Grobuski, two sons-in-law Scott Hall and Todd Goodrich, sister-in-law Maisey Slade, also six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Ruby is predeceased by two daughters Elizabeth Hall and Carol Lynn Goodrich and three sons Joseph, William and Michael Grobuski, sisters Anita Moore, Harriet Wolf and brothers William Dwyer, Richard, Louis and Fred Slade.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 21, at 6 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be at the family’s convenience in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, Canada.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 pm until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centers for Living & Rehabilitation through the funeral home.[/private]
