Cheney Library Elects New Officers

At a recent meeting of the Friends of Cheney Library the following officers were elected: Suzanne Anatriello – President; James Martinez – Vice-President; Silvia Plasse – Secretary; Kay Powers – Treasurer.[private]

The Friends are sponsoring an Oldies Dance on Saturday, November 5 from 7 to 10 pm in the gymnasium of St. Mary’s Academy. Tickets are $10 and are available at the library, Thorpe’s Pharmacy and the Hoosick Federal Credit Union; they will also be available at the door on the evening of the event. Music will be live and supplied by the New York Lounge Lizards; refreshments will be provided.

The Friends are also sponsoring an event for children. On Saturday, December 3 from 9 am to 1 pm children can shop for holiday gifts for their parents and siblings in the Children’s Room of the library. Gifts will range in price from 50 cents to $1; the gifts will be wrapped in holiday paper ready for giving. This is also the day for the First Saturday Book Sale.
