New Cell Tower Proposed In Petersburgh

November 3, 2016 By eastwickpress

Services LLC, based in Pittsfield, MA, held informal discussions with the Petersburgh Planning Board on October 31 about putting up a communications tower on land off Church Hollow Road in Petersburgh. [private]Ciolfi said he has been working with Verizon to fill weak spots in their cell phone coverage network, and this is the project they have come up with to do that.

The tower proposed would be 160 feet tall, and would be built on lands of Brian O’Donovan on an unnamed private road which runs north from Church Hollow Road.  At the same Planning Board meeting the Board voted to recommend that this road be named after Daniel Hill who used to live near the top of this road. They suggested that the Town Board name it Daniel Hill Memorial Way.

Ciolfi plans to submit a formal application next month. After the application is complete, the company will fly a balloon to show the public the height of the tower, in advance of holding a public hearing on the proposal.[/private]
