Village of Hoosick Falls
Wastewater Study
The Village of Hoosick Falls was awarded a $30,000 grant to evaluate upgrades that may be needed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant to prevent PFOA discharge and compliance with other disinfection requirements.
The application for this grant was written by MRB Engineering, and Mayor David Borge said they will take the lead in moving this study forward.
Woods Brook Study
The Village of Hoosick Falls and the Town of Hoosick jointly applied for funding to study possible solutions to periodic flooding of Woods Brook in the Hall Street area in the Village. They have been awarded $23,560 to do a study of the situation with recommended solutions.
Woods Brook originally ran right through the middle of the Village, but over the years it was confined in pipes and culverts and sluiceways which are not always adequate to handle the flow, which results in damaging floods.
These problems have been happening for many years, and this study hopes to finally find a solution to the problem. [/private]
