Boys Cruising To Wins

HF 74 – Greenwich 36 December 16 at HFCS. (HF O 4-0, L 4-0; GW 2-4, 1-2). [private]For all intents and purposes, this game was over at the end of the first quarter when Hoosick Falls got out to a 14-4 lead. From there everything went just as planned for the Panthers while Greenwich struggled to do anything.

The halftime score was 38-10. The team had a great night at the free throw line, going 18 of 18, with freshman Jon Kempf dropping in ten of them. Kempf led the scoring with a career high 21 points (3-3’s). Guy Milliman (8 assists) and Evan McCart (8 rebounds) each added 14. The JV team (4-0) also won.

HF 53 – Cambridge 45 December 14 at HFCS. HF O 3-0, L 3-0; Cambridge O 0-3, L 0-3. Cambridge stayed with the Panthers for the entire game, making for a closer game than was anticipated. The score was tied at the half, 28-28. The Panthers outscored the Indians 25-17 in the second half to secure the win. Guy Milliman scored 23 points, including 4 three-pointers. Jon Kempf scored 11 (3-3’s) and CJ Baker added 10. Max Retelle led Cambridge with 14 points. The JV team also won.

The holiday break will find the boys competing at Glens Falls Civic Center against Glens Falls High on Thursday, December 29 with the varsity game beginning at 7 pm. Friday, December 30, the boys return to the Glens Falls Civic Center for a game against Hudson Falls that starts at 4 pm. The junior varsity will compete at Glens Falls High with games on Thursday, December 29 at 4:15 and Friday, December 30, beginning at 12:45 pm.

The Panthers return to the Panther Den on Friday, January 6 with a game against Mechanicville at 7:30.

Other games around the league on December 16 found Saratoga Central Catholic (2-2) defeated Waterford (0-3), 71-41; Stillwater (3-1) defeated Tamarac (0-5), 58-50; Cambridge (1-3) defeated Mechanicville (3-2). Hoosic Valley (3-0) had a bye. All records are in league. [/private]
