Congratulations To Cambridge Football

The Cambridge High School football team became the 2016 New York State Class C football champions on Friday. [private]The Indians defeated Maple Grove 22-21 in a double overtime thriller at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY.

At the half the score was tied at 14 and stayed that way until the end of regulation time. Neither team scored in the first overtime. Maple Grove scored first in the second overtime and kicked the PAT to take a seven point lead, but Cambridge came right back with a score of their own.

Cambridge head coach Doug Luke rolled the dice and went for a two point conversion, putting the Indians in a win-it-or-lose-it situation. The Indians ran a play-action pass play and the defender bit on the run, leaving the receiver wide open to catch a pass for two points and the win. Photo by Steve Bradley[/private]
