Daughters Of The American Revolution Hold Important Meeting

December 8, 2016 By eastwickpress

submitted by Lois Sheaff

On Friday, December 2, the Ondawa-Cambridge Chapter, NSDAR met for a busy afternoon.  Following the opening ritual, Regent Jeanne Massey, accompanied by Chaplain Lois Sheaff, installed a new member into the Chapter, Suzanne Elaine Brady.[private]  Also, students from four area high schools were awarded the DAR Good Citizen Award, given to those students who have incorporated the four qualities of  good citizenship (dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism) into their lives.  Shown at right is Registrar JoAnn Trinkle awarding pins to, left to right, Katy Gardner of Hoosick Falls Central School, Alexander Flowers of Berlin Central School, Abigail Daniels of Cambridge School and Anna Ward of Hartford School.  Congratulations were offered to these students on their achievements.

Special holiday entertainment, “Tis the Season to be Caroling!” was presented by Debi Craig who led those present with the  singing of Christmas carols accompanied on hand chimes – a beautiful sound that filled the room. The afternoon ended with refreshments served by hostesses Jane Hayden, Dorothy Smith and Lois Sheaff.

The next meeting will be at 1 pm on Friday, March 3.  Guests are always welcome to attend.[/private]
