An eastbound Nissan Versa foolishly attempted to pass a truck at a Route 7 double yellow lines area last week. [private]The incident happened in front of the Potter Hill Barn. As oncoming traffic came closer, the small car cut off the truck while trying to get back into the eastbound lane, just missing westbound traffic.
The car got caught sideways across the front of the truck. With the passenger side against the truck and the driver’s side leading, the truck shoved the car off the road and up onto the guard rail, leaving a groove from the rail on the bottom of the car driver’s side.
The trucker threaded the needle with the car, just missing a tree. If the truck had gone into the tree the car would have been crushed. Fortunately, the soft ground brought both vehicles to a quick stop and neither driver was injured. The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad, NY State Police and Hoosick Fire Department responded. The unhurt driver of the car left the scene almost immediately. Photo by Steve Bradley[/private]
