Frederick Bachorz

Hoosick Falls – Frederick J. “Fred” Bachorz, 89, passed away on Friday December 9, 2016 at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home in North Greenbush, New York.[private] He resided on Center Street in Hoosick Falls. Fred was born on August 18, 1927, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Sleuska) Bachorz. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. Fred was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, serving during WW II, working as a airplane mechanic. He formerly worked for Albany Felt Company and later for the Village of Hoosick Falls as a Dispatcher. Fred enjoyed football and horse racing.

He is survived by a sister Anne Yurewitch of Hoosick Falls and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by seven sisters: Elizabeth Jordan, Josephine Bachorz, Mary Chapones, Helen Angermund, Florence Matatt, Genevieve Durkin, and Marjorie Hearns; and four brothers: Francis, Michael, Albert and Joseph Bachorz.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 10:30 am on Wednesday December 14, from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the mass at the Gerald B.H. Solomon/Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York.

Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls on Tuesday December 13, from 4 to 6 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.[/private]
