Leon Duprey

December 22, 2016 By eastwickpress

Berlin – Leon P. Duprey, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in Bennington, VT. Born in Chazy, NY in 1924, he was the son of the late Perlie and Ruth Duprey.

[private]After high school, Leon attended Oberlin College where he received his Bachelor’s degree in biology. Following graduation, he then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country very proudly. Ob-DupreywebUpon returning home from the service Leon met and fell madly in love with his dear wife, Hope Beach. They were married in 1947, and together they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Hope meant the world to Leon, and he worked tirelessly to make sure they had the life they dreamed about. As hard working as they come, Leon could always be found with a tool in his hand, and he could fix just about anything.

He also had a soft side; he loved his cats, taking his family out for ice cream, and cracking jokes. He led a life filled with love, and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his loving wife Hope, Leon is also survived by his daughter; Adrienne (Tom) Duprey Irish of Palm Bay, Florida, his brother; William (Sally) Duprey of Chazy, NY, as well as by his “second family”, Mary Devine and Harvest Dancer of Cherry Plain.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. [/private]
