Berlin Reorganizational Meeting

Prior to its regular meeting on Thursday, January 12, the Town Board held its annual organizational meeting for 2017.  Tara Fisher will once again serve as Deputy Supervisor, and Donald Tate was re-appointed Town Attorney. [private]Allison (Bud) Hall Sr. was named the Head Transfer Station Attendant, with Daniel Schnoop, Rose Orenstein and Ronald Blackman appointed as substitute attendants. Dianne Mosher was named Deputy Town Clerk.  Doug Goodermote will continue as Dog Control Officer and Elisabeth Miller will serve as Justice Clerk.  Sharon Klein will continue as Town Historian, and Nick Adams as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Pam Gerstel continues as Planning Board Chair, and Patty Baretsky as Chair of the Board of Assessors. Leonard Clapp Jr. will again be Water District #1 Commissioner, with Jim Winn staying on as Water District # 2 Commissioner.  Walter Allen Yerton remains Codes Enforcement Officer. Anne Maxon will be the Registar of Vital Statistics and Water District # 2 Rent Collector.

The Board named The Eastwick Press as the official Town Newspaper, and Pioneer Bank as the official depository for the Town.  There were also motions to set the mileage rate at 53.5 cents, and set the salaries for all elected and appointed officials. Town Hall was named as the official polling place for Districts 1 and 2.  The regular monthly meetings of the Town Board will still be held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 with the public review of bills starting at 7 pm. Workshop meetings will be on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 pm, as before.  The Supervisor must file the Town’s Annual Report to the Town Clerk within 60 days of the end of the past fiscal year, and may also pay health care and utilities bills when received.  [/private]
