Stephen Marcoux

Hoosick Falls – Stephen R. “Yibben” Marcoux, 69, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He resided there with his wife Paige (Brenenstuhl) Marcoux.[private]

Stephen was born on November 28, 1947 in Bennington, Vermont, son of the late Joseph C. and Agnes A. (French) Marcoux. He graduated from Southern Vermont College with a Bachelors Degree, in Business Administration.

Stephen was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving state side and in Vietnam at Camp Tien Sha, Danang. He was honorably discharged in 1968 after completing his tour in Vietnam, as Petty Officer 3rd Class. Stephen worked for AIG Insurance Company in Albany, New York as an adjustor.

Stephen was a member of the American Legion Post # 40 in Hoosick Falls, VFW Post # 7291 in Greenwich, NY, and a gold card member of the St. Stanislaw Society in Hoosick Falls. He was an avid golfer, often going to Florida on golf trips, and was a great Giants and Yankee fan.

Survivors other than his wife Paige include their daughter Nicole Backes (Frederick) of East Pittstown, NY, sister Yvonne Neal (Gary) of Hoosick, NY, brothers Donald Marcoux of Bennington, VT and Ernie Marcoux of Hoosick Falls, grandchild Ace Backes, also nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 20, at 7 pm, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 pm until the start of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Unit at Southern Vermont Medical Center through the funeral home.[/private]
