Paul Breese

February 23, 2017 By eastwickpress

Hoosick Falls – Paul E. Breese, 55, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2017, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, surrounded by his loving family. [private]Paul was born in Bennington, Vermont on September 2, 1961 to Robert Breese and the late Barbara (Dunham) Breese. He graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School in 1981. Paul’s first love was Breese Hollow.

Paul was an avid John Deere enthusiast who loved farming, nature and competing in annual tractor pulls. Paul was a determined person who learned to drive an off-road Volkswagen on the fields of the family farm. He taught his sister to drive stick-shift. Paul’s family fondly remembers piling into his car to go watch Hoosick Falls Panthers basketball games. Driving provided freedom to Paul and many of his passions were tied to driving. He enjoyed raking hay, disking fields and feeding cows. Mowing the soccer fields in Hoosick for the past thirteen years, brought Paul great pride. Paul looked forward to planting bulbs each year and he loved the company of his cats.

Paul was not afraid of a challenge. He climbed 42 flights of stairs as part of a charity fundraiser and spent many years down-hill skiing in an adaptive ski program. He was even featured in a TV spot to promote the ski program. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hoosick, NY. Survivors include his father, Robert (Roberta); brother, Robin Breese (Beverly); sister Bonnie (Breese) Schipisch; aunt and uncle, Walter and Joyce Dunham; two nephews and many loving cousins and numerous friends.

Funeral services were Wednesday, February 22 at 3 pm, from the Mahar Funeral home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York. Burial followed the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery, Hoosick, New York. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 pm until the start of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, P.O Box 139. Killington, VT, 05751, or NYS Librarians for Blind and Handicap. [/private]
