Overall the third year team finished 8th in last Saturday’s competition, with Heavyweight Mike Hicks placing third and several of his teammates also having some respectable finishes.[private] Nick Tripepi claimed 4th place in the competition, Wade Prather and Steve Mallory picked up a pair of fifth place finishes, and Chris Houle a sixth place.  Coach D.J. Connolly expressed his pride in his team and the hard work they put in all year.  He also had thanks for all the parents and fans that followed the team at their matches this year, both home and away.

The Berlin Boys’ Basketball team was the victim of weather and a cancellation, only taking the court for practice.  The New Lebanon Tigers posted a 52-49 win over Hawthorne Valley. Clayton Erickson was again the top scorer for New Lebanon with 18 points on five field goals, a three-pointer and five free throws.  Quinnton Dengle added another 15 points and Brandon Napoli eight more.

The Berlin Girls’ Basketball squad had a tough week, dropping a contest to Coxsackie-Athens by a 39-29 score.  Kaley Culbertson was the top point producer for Berlin with 9 points on three field goals and one three-pointer. Jewel Pietrzak and Parker Crandall each had six points for the day.  Later in the week, the girls lost to Emma Willard, Haley Maxon picking up 6 points and Amanda Despart three.

New Lebanon’s Lady Tigers had a good week on the court, posting a close win over the Eagles of Loudonville Christian, 59-55.  Stephanie Feathers led the way for New Lebanon with a pair of three -pointers to go along with four field goals and four more from the free throw line for a total of 18 points for the game.  Ashley Tynan added another 11.

It was an easier affair against Hawthorne Valley, as New Lebanon posted a 54-40 win.  Ashley Tynan led the way this time with 18 points, including a couple from downtown. Stephanie Feathers dropped in three from beyond the circle to finish with 13 for the night. [/private]
