DeEtte E. Pratt

Averill Park-DeEtte E. Pratt 95, a longtime resident of Rte. 43 “Alps” in Averill Park passed into eternal life on Tuesday January 24, 2017 at the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, MO after a short illness.[private] Born in Toddsville, NY, Dee was the daughter of the late Lee and Winifred Aylesworth Houck and the wife for 65 years to Benjamin F. Pratt Jr.

Dee was a 1940 graduate of Cooperstown High School and she and “Frankie” were married on her birthday in 1951. Dee and “Frankie” had moved to Mansfield Missouri in October 2015. Dee was a homemaker and a longtime active member of the West Stephentown Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday school Teacher for over 40 years, a member of the Ladies Aide Society, and the Gleanors Group. Dee was a 65 year member and a past Noble Grand of the Interlocken Rebekah Lodge # 92, Averill Park. Dee enjoyed cooking, singing, country music and was a Soap Opera “Fan.”

DeEtte was the mother of the late Benjamin F. Pratt III and sister of the late Adelbert and Floyd Houck, Edna Bliss, Elizabeth Ross, Virginia Small and Caroline Trinkaus.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children Ruth (Joe Schultz) Pratt of Averill Park, Robert (Tracey) Pratt of East Chatham, Russell (Jill) Pratt of Averill Park and Regina (Paul) VanderBogart of Mansfield, MO, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, her sister in law Jean Pratt of PA.

A Service was held on Monday January 30 at the West Stephentown Baptist Church at 7 pm. Relatives and friends called prior to the service. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery West Stephentown.

The family suggest donations in memory of DeEtte Pratt be made to the West Stephentown Baptist Church 1672 Stephentown, NY 12168.
