February 9, 2017 By eastwickpress

Former Hoosick Falls resident, Gary Spencer Lockrow, 63, was welcomed into his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. His peaceful passing was at the home he shared with his family in Springfield, MO. His daughter was at his side. [private]

Gary was born October 25, 1953 in Cambridge, NY, to Spencer and Pauline Lockrow.

A loyal and valuable employee, Gary retired in 2016 after many years of factory work, including 25 years at Allied Signal, formerly Norplex Oak, in Hoosick Falls. He loved the water and enjoyed kayaking, fishing and swimming. He also found joy in motorcycling, camping, home improvement, mechanics, woodworking, bird-watching, and fishkeeping. He will always be remembered as a kind, easy-going man who left things better than he found them and touched the lives of everyone he met.

Gary’s wife, of nearly 31 years, died February 25, 2005. He was also predeceased by his son, Gary Jr., and father, Spencer.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Dale LeClare, and four grandchildren, Isabelle, Juliette, Richard, and Colette of Springfield, MO; his mother, Pauline LeBarron Lockrow and brother, Gregory (Melissa) Lockrow, of Hoosick Falls, NY; his sister, Sharon (Wayne) Rabideau of Greensboro, NC. He also leaves behind many beloved brother and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and an uncle.

Visitation will begin at 10 am, Saturday morning, February 11, at Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls. A memorial service will follow at noon, with Pastor Bill Church officiating. A private burial service for Gary’s family will follow at the West Hoosick Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to 656 E McArthur Dr. Springfield, MO 65810[/private]
