HF 48 – Hoosic Valley 33
Friday, February 3 at HFCS. HF 15-3, L 14-0; HV 10-6, 10-3. The Panther boys downed Hoosic Valley Friday evening 48-33, giving the Panthers at least a piece of the Wasaren League title. [private]The Panthers have won the title for four straight years and seven of the last nine years. Both teams started slow but Hoosick Falls began stepping up the pace halfway through the first quarter while the Indians struggled throughout the game to put points on the board. The Panthers held the Indians to single digit scoring in every quarter but the fourth. The Panthers led by ten at the half. Alex Haynes, who has been on a roll lately, scored 16 points, with Jon Kempf added 13 and Evan McCart dropped in 10. Issac Sanchez was high scorer for the Indians with nine points. The JV won, 59-36.

HF 68 – Greenwich 30
Wednesday, February 1 at GCS. The Panthers held Greenwich to two first quarter points while scoring 22 of their own and then cruised to an easy win. Evan McCart scored 15 points and Alex Haynes added 11.
League standing are: Hoosick Falls 14-0, Stillwater 11-2, Hoosic Valley 10-3, Mechanicville 7-7, Saratoga Catholic 6-7, Cambridge 5-8, Tamarac 3-9, Greenwich 3-10, Waterford 1-13.
The Panthers travel to Mechanicville Friday, February 10. Monday, February 13, the boys will be home against Saratoga Central Catholic. Game time for both varsity games is 7:30.
Ladies Downed By Hoosic Valley
HF 45 – Hoosic Valley 55
Friday, February 3 at HVHS. HF 13-4, L 11-3; HV 13-4, 11-2. Staying in the hunt for a piece of the Wasaren League title fell by the wayside Friday when the Ladies fell to Hoosic Valley in Schaghticoke, 55-45. The Panthers had trouble scoring throughout the first half, only scoring 14 total points. The Indians, on the other hand, were scoring readily, leading 29-14 at the break. The Panthers came out of the break determined to get themselves back in the game by outscoring the Indians 18-9 in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, they couldn’t keep up the pace and the Indians outscored the Panthers to grab the win. Liz Ryan scored 17 points, Kelly Pine had 14 and Logan Thayne added 10. Pine and Thayne each had 11 rebounds. Ashley Madison had 13 points to lead the Indians.
League standing are: Tamarac 12-1, Hoosic Valley 11-2, Hoosick Falls 11-3, Mechanicville 10-4, Greenwich 5-8, Stillwater 5-8, Cambridge 3-10, Saratoga Catholic 3-10, Waterford 0-14.
The Lady Panthers host Mechanicville Friday, February 10. Monday, February 13, the girls travel to Saratoga to play Central Catholic. Both varsity games begin at 7:30. [/private]
