School Subdivision Approved

By Doug La Rocque

Following a public hearing in which neighbors to Eric Schold on Bly Hollow Road had some questions concerning access, the Berlin Planning Board gave its approval to his request to separate 40 acres out of his 147-acre plot for a possible sale.

[private]Charles Saunders asked at the hearing, if he would still have access across the land to his. The Board informed him that was not an issue for it to consider.  Brian McVeigh represented another neighbor, Dave Goodermote, who asked if the subdivision would grant access to the property from Goodermote Road.  He was informed it would not.  Prior to approving the subdivision, the Board approved the short form SEQRA application, finding no environmental impact.

The Board also received an application for a subdivision from Karl Brock, concerning his property located a 295 Dyken Pond Road.  Brock plans to split off three acres of his property to allow his son and daughter-in-law to build a home.  He submitted both his application and short form SEQRA.  A public hearing on the proposal was scheduled for March 23 at 7 pm at the Town Hall.

Hearing no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
