After 30 years of walking the streets of Hoosick Falls, Betsy Davendonis LaRoche has decided to hang up her mailbag.

She has enjoyed her career and is looking forward to her hobbies, doing a little traveling and kicking back and relaxing.

Betsy LaRoche

LaRoche graduated from HFCS in 1973 and attended SUNY Brockport. After college she worked at the Flomatic (currently Brown’s Brewery) in North Hoosick. She passed the civil service exam and when the Post Office had an opening, she took the job. “I started March 16, 1987. It’s really been a pleasure. I spent my working life in my hometown doing something I enjoy. It’s been great,” LaRoche said, taking a quick break from her route. “I’m off to Florida at the end of the week,” she added.

Laroche is the daughter of the late Wally and Peg Davendonis. She has been married to her husband, Leo, for 37 years.

Congratulations, Betsy. Enjoy your retirement. [/private]
