The community was also asked to vote on a separate proposition to purchase buses. Using the School Bus Capital Reserve, this proposition will have no impact on taxes. It was approved by a vote of 309 in favor and 108 gainst.

Superintendent Kenneth Facin said, “We are deeply appreciative of the continued support the community gives our school and our operations.”

He added, “The community has once again supported our students and their learning opportunities. We continue to forge wonderful relationships with all sectors of our community from businesses, and organizations, to the Town and Village, as we seek to take on the presented challenges. This vote clearly exemplifies our community’s commitment to education and its dedication to a great future for our students.”

Board President Greg Laurin said, “On behalf of the Hoosick Falls Central School District Board of Education, we are deeply thankful for the support our community has provided for this school budget. We strive every year to try and balance the taxpayer’s ability to fund education and learning opportunities; we are grateful that our community continues to support these efforts.”

Two seats were up for election for the Hoosick Falls Central School Board of Education, and the two candidates ran unopposed. John Helft received 325 votes and Jackolyn Houghton received 336. [/private]
