With the weather creating havoc with getting games in the books, the Lady Panthers went to Greenwich to play a double header to get both games into the books.  Greenwich was the home game for the first game, then HF was home for the second. According to the Times Union, Greenwich is the number one ranked Class C team in the area.

HF 1  – Greenwich 4

Game 1, Thursday, May 4 at Greenwich HS. Greenwich grabbed a four run lead in the first inning and was unable to score the rest of the way after the Panthers shut down the Witches for the rest of the game. The Panthers mustered one run of their own when Liz Ryan hit a home run while going 3 for 3 in the game. The Panthers outhit the Witches, seven hits to six. Neither team had an error. Maddy Atherton, Mackenzie Ellis, Lily Abbott and Stephanie Merwin each had one hit.

Greenwich 18 – HF 1

Game 2, Thursday, May 4 at Greenwich HS. After being held to four runs in the first game, the Witches opened the floodgates in this game. After the Witches scored three runs in the top of the first inning, the Panthers countered with one of their own. From that point on Greenwich lived up to their number one ranking and took complete control of the game, outscoring Hoosick Falls 12-0. Greenwich outhit the Panthers, 22-3, with Maddy Atherton, Stephanie Merwin and Cecelia Vincent each getting one hit. Hoosick Falls had four errors while the Witches committed only one.  [/private]
