Winds Take Down Trees And Wires

May 11, 2017 By eastwickpress

by Steve Bradley

The high winds late last week kept the area fire departments hopping for a couple hours and one department got a structure fire call to start it off. [private]A call came in for Buskirk for a structure fire on Ravenwood Way to begin the events. Then the high winds blew through the area and the calls for trees down began to come in. North Hoosick had a tree down near the old Top Hat on Route 67, Hoosick Falls got a call for a tree and wires down on High Street, then another call for wires on Snow Street.

Pittstown got 12 calls in two hours, one for a tree down on Route 7 that was completely blocking traffic. All the departments took the calls in stride and a short period of time later, the roads were clear. [/private]
