Organizer Zach Taber, who would like to send out a special thank you to the Hoosick Falls and Catamount wrestling staff for all their help in putting on the event, held a State Line Freestyle & Greco-Roman New York State qualifier at the HFCS gymnasium Saturday, May 7.[private] Eighty-five wrestlers attended the event, ranging from 7 to 18 years old, or second to twelfth grade. The event qualifiers for the New York State Championships were Zoe Gress, Aiden Scott, Craig Sawyer, Logan Powers and Gabe Fisher.
The state event will be at SUNY Broome Ice Skating Rink in Binghampton, NY on May 12-14 in Kids, Cadets, Juniors and Womens divisions. Winners at the state event qualify for the national event to be held in Fargo, North Dakota.
Looking ahead, another event, a high school style dual meet, will be held July 14, 15 and 16 at the Town of Hoosick skating rink at the Athletic Fields. [/private]
