Village Of Hoosick Falls Chooses Engel As Environmental Attorney

June 15, 2017 By eastwickpress

by Alex Brooks

The Hoosick Falls Village Board of Trustees went into an executive session at the start of its June 13 meeting to discuss the candidates for the environmental attorney position. [private]When they emerged, Mayor Rob Allen said the Village received five applications for the position, and they interviewed four of them. There were aspects they liked about each of the four and felt it was a strong group of candidates, but they decided to hire David Engel of the Albany firm Nolan And Heller.

Engel has been involved in the Hoosick Falls water situation pretty much from the beginning when he was the attorney for the non-profit group Healthy Hoosick Water.  He has continued to be involved at every stage of the process. Mayor Allen said he believes Engel is ready to “hit the ground running” because he doesn’t have to spend a lot of time reviewing and learning about all that has gone before. [/private]
