A League Title For Area Girls’  12 And Under Softball Team

July 27, 2017 By eastwickpress

By Doug La Rocque
With girls from Brunswick, Grafton and Hoosick Falls on the squad, the Brunswick Blitz won the 2017 Hudson Mohawk Division 1 title.  The league consists of teams from Glens Falls south to Hudson and west to Amsterdam.
Posting a 33-12-3 record, the team also competed in many tournaments in Rhode Island as well as in New York State.  These girls started practicing last August and improved every time they played.

Coach Eric Buckley tells The Eastwick Press “it is nice to see kids that work hard can see what happens if they put in the time and never give up, no matter how many runs you may be down.  Every kid bought into the team concept and wanted to win as a group.  That is what separated this group of kids from others I have coached.” Buckley also expressed his thanks to the team’s sponsors and parents.  Tryouts for next year’s version of the Blitz travel team begin on August 7.  For more information, contact buckley828@aol.com
