A New Insurance Business Opens Its Doors In Berlin

July 22, 2017 By eastwickpress

By Doug La Rocque

Laura Saunders is originally from Cherry Plain and still calls the Taconic Valley home.  After 17 years working for other insurance agencies, and seeing the need for a local agent to serve her hometown and the surrounding communities, she recently opened the Taconic Mountains Insurance Agency, at 18246 NY Route 22 in Berlin, right next to the Post Office.  She tells The Eastwick Press it’s good to be home and a real pleasure offering her services to her neighbors.

Born and raised here, she feels very comfortable writing policies that are tailored to the needs of the people of Eastern Rensselaer County, and not so much that of the Capital District’s more urban areas.  She recently also received the permits to begin writing insurance policies in neighboring Vermont.

Saunders offers a wide variety of Personal and Commercial Lines, such as Home, Auto, Renters, Mobil Home, Commercial Auto, boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs.  She also writes Small Business and General Liability.  More information about her agency is available on her website and on Facebook.  She is open 9 am to 4 pm, and until 5 pm on Thursdays.  Closed weekends but is still available by appointment including evenings.  You may stop by the office or call her at 518-240-4998.
