Folks Enjoy Gathering Of Friends At Wood Park

July 27, 2017 By eastwickpress

by Steve Bradley

On a very comfortable Saturday afternoon July 22, four to five hundred people came from near and far to Wood Park in Hoosick Falls to listen to music and greet old friends.
Many of the attendees rekindled friendships with people they hadn’t seen in thirty years.

Music was provided by the band Blues for Breakfast, a Burlington, VT band fronted by Hoosick Falls native Charlie Frazier. Frazier has a significant following among local people. Back in the day he was a member of the very popular Hoosick Falls based Hill Road Band. While the band played from 4 to 8 pm, people talked and laughed, bought raffle tickets for the Youth Center until they sold out, bought the available food until that sold out, and mostly just enjoyed the afternoon.

The Youth Center raffle was won by Nancy Fabiano, who donated a generous portion of her $275 winnings back to Penny Acree for the Youth Center. Organizers Kevin O’Malley and Marie O’Neil were very pleased with how the entire day went. They are already discussing a 2018 event.
