Peggy Piche

July 13, 2017 By eastwickpress

Eagle Bridge – Peggy J. (Reckner) Piche, of Eagle Bridge, passed away at Albany Medical Center, Monday, July 3, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic accident while tending to livestock in her barn.[Private] Born in Troy, June 16, 1953, Peggy was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor Reckner. She was a graduate of Troy High School. Peg married William T. Piche on September 12, 1970 and together they enjoyed an unbreakable bond for 47 years that will continue on forever.

As a rural mail carrier, Peg was often considered a member of the many families on her route, and their days were always brightened by the warmth of her smile and the ever-present light in her eyes. Upon retiring from the United States Postal Service, Peg began working for Infinity Pet Services, a job she cherished nearly as much as her employers and co-workers who became fast friends and a highly valued part of her life.

In addition to her outside employment, Peg, side by side with her husband, Bill, have owned and operated Shady Maple Kennel since 1982. Peg had a fierce love and dedication to her dogs and horses, and all other animals as well. Her horse, “Half-pint” held a very special place in her heart.

Peg most enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends, who considered themselves most fortunate to be able to share their lives with her.

In addition to her husband, Bill, Peg is survived by her brother, Donald (Joan) Reckner of Nassau, her sister, Susan Kendall of Troy, her aunt, Marilyn Wager of Brunswick as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Peg was predeceased by her daughter, Alison Piche, her brother, William Reckner and her nephew, Russell Reckner.

A Memorial Service celebrating Peg’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 10 am at The First Baptist Church of Hoosick, located at 648 South Street, in Hoosick, with Pastor Dale Hall officiating. At Peg’s request, there will be no public calling hours and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, in Peggy J. Piche’s memory, may be made to either The First Baptist Church of Hoosick, 648 South Street, Hoosick, NY 12189 or to The Petty Family’s Victory Junction Camp, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317 where Peg served as a volunteer.[/Private]
