Peter Alan Martin

July 13, 2017 By eastwickpress

West Hoosick, NY – Peter Alan Martin, formally of Hartford, VT passed away unexpectedly in a tractor accident at his home on July 4, 2017. [Private]He was born June 29, 1972 in Lakehurst, NJ to James A. Martin and Patricia (Brunning) Martin.

Peter attended Hartford High School in Vermont and graduated in 1990. He attended Florida Institute of Technology and then moved to Troy, NY and began a career with newly-formed Brown’s Brewing Company of Troy and North Hoosick, NY. Peter progressed his brewing science education at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago and advanced through the ranks at Brown’s to become the Director of Brewing Operations.

Peter’s extensive interests and talents have made him a beloved friend and co-worker to many people. His unique combination of process and systems design expertise coupled with hands-on fabrication skills made him a subject-matter expert beyond compare in the craft brewing industry. His advice and assistance were sought after and offered to colleagues and competitors alike. Success in his industry was everyone’s to share, as long as you were willing to do the hard work required.

Growing up, Peter shared diverse and prolific experiences with people close to him. He loved the outdoors, his family, his work and any project that called to him. Peter was always willing to help others, despite his own vast list of projects and responsibilities, with an enthusiastic zeal to exceed expectations.

Peter loved his daughters and developed special relationships with both of them as they became young adults, building their own impressive lists of accomplishments and aspirations. He was a proud father. His family and friends are left with a lifetime of memories of family events, hunting and fishing camps, challenging but always successful projects, and adventurous travel experiences.

He is survived by his long-time beloved girlfriend Laurie Lucier, daughters Emily and Sarah Martin, parents James and Patricia Martin, brother James P. Martin (Heather), sister Carrie Martin, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service and celebration of Peter’s life was held at Brown’s Brewing Company – Walloomsac Tap Room on July 10 from 3 to 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a college tuition trust will be established for his daughters. Checks should be made payable to “Fund for the education of Emily Martin and Sarah Martin” and mailed to the Brown’s Brewing Co., 50 Factory Hill Rd, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090 [/Private]
