July 14, 2017 By eastwickpress

A week after being under several feet of water, the Hoosick Falls Youth Baseball and Softball League held its tournament at the Waterworks Fields.[Private] Everything didn’t go off perfectly as Mother Nature threw the organizers a curveball on Saturday when mid-morning rains cancelled play for the rest of the day.

Sunday made up for it when blue skies and comfortable temperatures made for a perfect day to play the games. Teams from Green Island, Cambridge, Hoosic Valley, Bennington, Salem, Brunswick, Greenwich, Dalton (MA), Argyle and Hoosick Falls participated. Greenwich took home the championship trophies in the 8 and Under division with Brunswick coming in second.
