The Petersburgh Library sponsored a program on Birds on July 24. Josh Pulito, Natural Resources Educator from Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center, taught children all about birds including their adaptations, behavior and habitat.
Kids learned to identify birds by sight and by their calls. Pulito also discussed native bluebirds and how to attract them to your backyard.
The program concluded with placement of two new bluebird boxes at the Town Park, creating new habitat for our feathered friends.
