Charles Weeden

August 17, 2017 By eastwickpress

Hoosick Falls – Charles W. Weeden, 69, passed away on Sunday August 13 at the Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Charlie resided with his wife Sharon on the farm he was born on.

Charlie was born on January 28, 1948. He was the son of Lorin and Dorothy (Ketchum) Weeden. On June 20, 1970 he wed Sharon (McDonough). He enjoyed the simple things and building his life with his wife and kids. Those who knew Charlie knew the undying love he had for his family, his family always came first. The love was unconditional and will never be replaced. Very few people experience the love our father, husband, grandfather showed us all. He was employed by the Hoosick Falls Central School for over 30 years, first as a bus driver then as the Transportation Supervisor.

Charlie is survived by his wife Sharon “Fred,” daughters Jennifer “Doof”(David Ellis), Andrea “Geez” a son Jimmy”Spider”, grandchildren Alyssa “Weasel,” Mackenzie “Pooper,” brothers Richard, Wes, Bruce (Julie) and a sister, Laura Roberson. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law Elaine Weeden and Sue McDonough. He was predeceased by a brother, Vern.

In addition to the family Jennifer blessed the rest of the family with two beautiful daughters who Charlie adored. Charlie attended all of the girls’ events from chorus concerts to sports games. He never missed a beat. The kids at Hoosick Falls were blessed, with his fun outgoing personality and genuine care for them. His love for his players and the game of softball was extraordinary.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls on Thursday August 17 from 3 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charles W. Weeden Scholarship Fund or the Town of Hoosick Youth Softball/ Baseball through the funeral home.
