Janice Dooley

Hoosick Falls – Janice Dooley, 82, passed away on Sunday August 27, 2017 at the Center for Nursing And Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls.

Born on June 22, 1935 in Canandaigua, NY, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Mary (Parrish) Shaw. A graduate of Hoosick Falls High School, Janice was a social worker assistant at the Office on Economic Opportunity in Hoosick Falls. She later worked at Oak Industries Laminates Division and later as a teacher aid at Hoosick Falls Central (Elementary) School.
Janice married Kenneth Dooley in 1954. They were married for 62 years, and members of St. Stanislaw Society in Hoosick Falls. Janice’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth and their children, Sue (Bernard) Davendonis of Hoosick Falls, Gail Fagnano of Warrensburg, NY and Wendy (Peter) Leslie of West Cornwall, CT, her seven grandchildren; Cailin Davendonis, Jill Fagnano (Logan) Tyler, Lindsay Fagnano, Jacob Leslie, Taylor Leslie, Jessica Leslie and Janelle Leslie, two great grandchildren; Danica Tyler and Dakota Tyler.
Funeral services were held Thursday August 31, at 12:30 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls, NY. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service. Burial was at the Gerald B.H. Solomon/Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to either the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation through the funeral home.
