The Panthers (3-1) visited the Ravana-Coeymans-Selkirk High School to take on the Coxsackie-Athens Indians (1-3) Friday night. C-A is having a new turf field installed and while work is underway C-A’s homes games are held on the R-C-S field when R-C-S has an away game.
Trouble started immediately for C-A when their kickoff return man fumbled the opening kickoff and the Panthers recovered. With the short field, HF running back Drew Hoag ran the ball in from the twelve and just like that the Panthers were leading. After Lucas Brogue booted the extra point the Panthers had a quick 7 point cushion.
Hoag added another later in the first quarter when he ran in for the second Panther score from the five yard line. Brogue added the kick and the Panthers had a 14-0 lead. C-A got on the board to get within seven on a 14 yard pass. It turned out to be the last time the Indians were within seven points.
In the second quarter quarterback Sam Richard connected with wide receiver Nick Giordano on a nice 48 yard reception and the Panthers went into halftime with a 21-7 lead.
Hoosick Falls scored twice in the third quarter. Hoag scored on the ground from four yards out, and the Giordano from Richard connection hooked up again for a 24 yard TD reception. Later in the third quarter, C-A added another score on a one yard run.
The Panthers had 281 offensive yards. Drew Hoag ran 18 times for 99 yards and three TD’s. Richard had 92 yards and 2 TD’s through the air. Max Kipp had seven carries for 45 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, Dimitri Rose had five tackles and one fumble recovery, Lucas Brogue had two tackles and one fumble recovery.
Remaining on the regular season schedule: Sept. 29, at Fonda-Fultonville, 7pm; Oct. 6, Holy Trinity, at HFCS, 7pm; Oct. 13, Mechanicville at HFCS, 7pm.
In other Wasaran League Play, the Tamarac Bengals traveled to Cairo – Durham last Saturday and posted a 34 to 30 win.

Class D rivals Cambridge (4-0, NYS ranked #1) and Greenwich (4-0, NYS ranked #4) meet Saturday in Cambridge. Cambridge quarterback Zack Rowland was 8 for 8 for 229 yards and four touchdowns in last Saturdays win over Whitehall. Game time is 1 pm.
